DPWES Wastewater manages 3300 miles of sewer lines, 63 pump stations, a 67 MGD advanced wastewater treatment plant, treatment contracts with 7 other entities, is responsible for total gross capital program assets of $2.5B, and maintains a sewer utility bond rating. DPWES Solid Waste manages 1M+ tons of solid waste annually via collection services for residential customers, a transfer station, and a waste-to-energy landfill facility, in addition to zero waste planning and code enforcement services. DPWES Stormwater inspects or maintains 1500+ miles of storm drains and stormwater management facilities, manages the County MS4 permit, develops stream restoration projects, and performs countywide stormwater planning to protect water quality and reduce flood risk. DPWES Urban Forestry mitigates tree loss and maximizes tree planting during land development, manages invasive forest pests, and facilitates the County’s Tree Commission. DPWES Capital Facilities administers the planning, design, land acquisition, and construction services for municipal facility projects and infrastructure improvements, with a combined total project estimate of $2.6B+ for active projects.
