Chris is Head of Engineering in the Applied Solutions team at Hexagon MI (who acquired Romax Technology Ltd. In 2020). The Design Group delivers design and development projects for drive systems in the automotive, commercial vehicle, aerospace and wind energy industries. Chris leads a team of mechanical, electrical, electronics and control engineers including specialists in gearbox design, motor design, systems engineering, finite element analysis, noise and vibration engineering and the use of Hexagon MI’s CAE suite including Romax, Adams, Cradle, Apex and Nastran. Example projects include the development of Electric Drive Units for passenger car and heavy commercial vehicles, wind turbine gearbox developments, aircraft accessory drives and rotorcraft gearboxes. Since receiving a PhD. from the University of Bristol in 2005, he has worked at Romax in various roles, starting in software application development, then moving to engineering services including a 5 year spell working out of Romax\'s US office in Colorado, before returning to manage engineering teams in Nottingham.
