About Chris Ford
I have been active as an educator and musical artist throughout my career. Profoundly interested in bringing high-quality developmental experiences to young people, particularly those with limited access, I have been fortunate to be involved with the Baltimore School for the Arts throughout most of my professional life. At this juncture, I am very interested in providing the most effective educational environment possible for young artists and affecting their futures in the most comprehensively beneficial manner possible.

As Director of BSA I manage a pre-professional public arts school that serves over students with training in dance, music, theatre and visual arts. Students in 2nd through 8th grade participate in a free, after-school and Saturday lessons with professional artists (TWIGS). Students in 9th through 12th grades attend full-day sessions that pair college preparatory academic classes with specialized arts classes led by active professional artists.BSA partners with regional professional arts organizations such as CenterStage, the Walters Art Museum the Modell Lyric Performing Arts Center and the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra. BSA\'s annual presentation of the Nutcracker ballet with the BSO and the Modell Lyric exemplifies our partnerships.
