ABOUT CHRIS DOWLING
With over 20 years’ experience in the field of special events and live production, I understand that each event, each location, each production team is different and unique. Learning how to harness the knowledge I’ve gained across projects has been invaluable. It allows me to anticipate issues and be more resourceful when responding to those in-the-moment challenges that make this work so dynamic.My experience in diverse areas of live production—from project management to CAD detailing, construction management to labour negotiations—is equally valuable. It has given me the confidence to take on a variety of roles and to work in just about any environment: stadiums, arenas, studios, convention centres, hotels, theatres, streets, parking lots, fields, beaches, national parks, and golf courses, inlocations across North America as well as South America, Asia and Europe. I have tackled events of every scale, whether for an intimate group of 50 or a crowd of I’ve also learned how to adapt to the different personalities and work styles of colleagues, clients, vendors, and external stakeholders. In my opinion, flexibility and a willingness to listen are essential tools for project leaders, and they go far in ensuring a successful event. With events and live production, you’re given only one shot to get it right. I’m continually energized by this challenge and thrive on motivating others to do the same.
