About Chris D. Ramos
Chris Ramos, MPA, is Clinical Professor and Senior Executive Director of the Arts and Entertainment Management Program at Pace University. His research has focused on the impact of recession on staffing and funding for arts education in New York City schools and the cross platform consistency of online ratings of movie quality. Professor Ramos joined the Lubin School of Business in 2012 and serves as the faculty advisor for The Industry Network student-run organization. He teaches a variety of courses in management including arts and entertainment management, nonprofit management, film/dance studies, managing creativity, business honors in management, and management and organizational behavior. He received the Lubin School of Business Excellence in Teaching Award in 2017 and Pace University’s top teaching honor, the University Kenan Award for Teaching Excellence, at its 2021 commencement. As a performing artist, he began his pursuits in the dance community in the mid-80s where his artistic endeavors were recognized by the Hawaii State Dance Council Choreographic Award, Dancespace Project at St. Mark\'s, The Puffin Foundation, New York City\'s Dance Now from Downtown Battery Dance Festivals, Out on the Edge Festival, AIDS Remember Project, Rivertowns Arts Council, New Choreographer\'s Ballet Builders, Lincoln Center Out-of-Doors Dance Festival, and other dance festivals throughout Hawaii, Connecticut, New York, & New Jersey. As an arts-educator, he taught master classes and workshops at the University of Hawaii-Manoa, Dance World Academy in New Jersey, Soundance Studio in New York, & artist-in-residencies for elementary, middle and high school throughout New Jersey. Recently, he was invited as a guest lecturer for Battery Dancing To Connect Institute in teaching the importance of Arts Management concepts and theories to the careers of professional performing artists.
