Creating public-private partnerships for the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs programs such as the Academy for Women Entrepreneurs (AWE)AWE was launched in 2019 and implemented in 25 countries. In 2020, AWE was expanded to 53 countries at over 160 locations (or virtually) reaching over women. We are on track to implement training in 80 countries in 2021. This program engages local communities and U.S. embassies, leverages the curriculum developed by Arizona State University’s Thunderbird School of Management, and integrates highly qualified facilitators. Additionally, AWE embraces these women not just for the training but throughout their entrepreneurial journey through mentoring and networking.
