Lead engineer for the design, build, and test of the Mars Ascent Vehicle Accommodation hardware for Sample Retrieval Lander on the Mars Sample Return Mission. Led development of the Vertically Ejected Controlled Tip-Off Release (VECTOR) System and associated separation hardware that would eject the Mars Ascent Vehicle from the Mars surface 1 second prior to rocket motor ignition. Led a team of 14 engineers including hardware engineers, designers, stress analysts, and dynamics analysts, from the conceptual to detailed design phases, including a successful Preliminary Design Review and development testing. Defined and managed mechanical interfaces spanning multiple organizations and teams. Cost account manager for the associated labor, hardware, and support services.
