About Chris Castellon

I am currently a Junior at the Indiana University Kelley School of Business majoring in Finance. In addition to being a Kelley student, I am a member of the National Society of High School Scholars and the National Honors Society. I have always prided myself on my hard work in the classroom and made it a point to try and outwork my peers. This work ethic carried out of the classroom as well. During my time in high school I was a member of the Varsity baseball team, where I worked incredibly hard to come back from injury and still perform at a high level. During my senior year, I was also put in a leadership position when I was named a co-captain of my varsity baseball team. This helped me grow as a leader, especially when forced to adapt to the coronavirus pandemic.My leadership skills directly translated to my involvement in scouting, in particular during my time working on my Eagle Scout service project. During this project, I had to lead fellow scouts and adult volunteers in completing a project which required various permits, fundraising, and leadership in ensuring it was completed on time. The project took close to a year and a half from start to finish, including the time it took to acquire the necessary permits, raise the needed, and complete the building of the structure. As I enter my college career and eventually enter the workplace, I hope to utilize these skills and values. I believe my high-level work ethic and leadership skills will be key in my success as I attempt to enter the finance industry as a financial analyst.
