About Chris Cardello

I lead engineering organizations through the shift from AI-assisted development to AI-native engineering. Not the hype version. The version where agents run audited workflows, skills are shared primitives, and engineers define problems precisely enough for AI to solve them reliably. My background is product and program management turned engineering leadership. 20+ years of delivery. 10+ on executive teams. I\'m not the most technical person in the room and I don\'t pretend to be. My job is building the conditions where strong engineers do their best work: clear strategy, honest tradeoffs, and systems that scale without heroics. Right now I\'m focused on what happens after the champions phase of AI adoption. How do you move from scattered tool usage to systematic, observable, auditable AI workflows embedded in how teams ship software? How do you build depth with one tool instead of spreading thin across ten? How do you create capacity for foundational work when the feature backlog never stops? I think about AI adoption the way I think about operational excellence: infrastructure beats inspiration, measurement beats anecdote, and the hardest problems are organizational, not technical.
