ABOUT CHRIS C JOHNSEN
I am currently a Sr. Safety, Health, and Environmental Manager for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints within the Risk Management Division of the Meetinghouse Facilities Department. Additionally, I am studying as a Ph.D. fellow in the Occupational Injury Prevention Research Team program at the University of Utah. I left the Air Force Civil Service where I was serving as a Safety Trainer involved in the development and instruction of Mishap Investigation None-Aviation and Safety Management Courses for the Air Force, as well as Aircraft Mishap Investigation Course, and Aviation Safety Program Management. As part of force development, I entered a career-broadening rotation, in which I course managed the Chief of Safety and Board President courses for the Air Force, Aircraft Mishap Investigation Course, and International Foreign Safety Officer program. Previously as Lead Safety Specialist for the OO-ALC Depot Complex, I oversaw occupational health & safety operations for the Aviation Group involved in aircraft depot maintenance for F-16, C-130, F-22, F-35, and T-38 aircraft and 2200+ employees. Before depot, I was the Safety Specialist for the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA), Aviation Group, at Hill Air Force Base, Utah, involved in monitoring and acting as a subject matter expert for the combined DLA division site\'s OSHA VPP Challenge Program which oversaw the occupational health & safety and industrial hygiene for over 500 employees. I am currently a Certified Safety Professional and have a Master’s in Occupational Safety Management. I served in the military for 20 years retiring in 2006 from the United States Air Force as an F-16 Tactical Aircraft Maintenance craftsman and first-line aviation supervisor, aircraft production supervisor, supervisor production support, technician, and apprentice.
