About Chris Bouffard
With over 25 years of experience in the financial services industry, I am passionate about helping advisors guide their clients to their retirement goals and financial objectives through sound and strategic portfolio construction and risk management. As the Chief Investment Officer at The Retirement Planning Group, a fiduciary wealth management firm that provides comprehensive financial planning and investment advice to individuals, families, and institutions, I oversee the investment policy, asset allocation, investment due diligence, portfolio construction, and risk management of the firm\'s client portfolios. I also work closely with our financial planners and advisors to ensure that our investment advice and solutions are aligned with our clients\' goals, needs, and risk tolerances. Prior to The Retirement Planning Group, I held senior leadership roles at growth-oriented wealth management firms Prime Capital Investment Advisors and Edelman Financial Engines (originally as CIO of PE-owned The Mutual Fund Store, then through the sales/transitions to Financial Engines and ultimately Edelman Financial Engines). Before moving to the wealth management side of the industry I spent 13 years at American Century Investments building and leading portfolio research and investment decision support teams. We supported the investment teams and distribution groups, providing functions that included performance attribution, risk decomposition, quantitative analysis, competitive analysis, and investment analytics support. Prior to ACI I directed and managed closed-end fund research and products at Lipper (now part of Refinitiv). I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance and the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation, which demonstrates my commitment to excellence and ethical standards in the investment profession. I am passionate about investing and I enjoy sharing my insights and perspectives on market and economic trends with advisors, clients, the financial media, and the broader community. I am also a lifelong learner, and I constantly seek to enhance my skills and knowledge. I believe that investing is not only a science, but also an art, and I strive to apply both creativity and rigor to my work.
