ABOUT CHRIS BIGGS

As Head of Education, I have the privilege of firstly managing a fantastic portfolio of some of NatWest\'s largest and most prestigious Education customers across London & the South East as their Relationship Director. Beyond that, and as my title suggests, I also enjoy a wider responsibility to work with Sectors and colleagues across the UK in leading our National strategy and engagement with customers that operate in this crucial sector for attracting, training, and supplying the UK labour market with high quality talent that fuels \"UK plc\".This role spans key sub-sectors of Education, including Higher Education, Independent Schools (and groups thereof), other Education Services businesses and Industry Bodies who represent those in any of the above.It continues to utilise the sector leadership and relationship management skills that have characterised my previous roles, and as this spans both Mid-Market and Large Corporate client sets it allows me to exercise the Product skills built working extensively in both businesses. I am also actively involved in the coaching & development of direct reports and other junior members of our wider business.I joined NatWest on its Internship in 2011 - working in Tech Coverage - before earning a place on the Corporate Banking graduate scheme from Sep\'12. In Mar\'14, I secured my first choice role after that rotational scheme in TMT Corporate Coverage where I enjoyed working for >2.5 years. In Oct\'16, I took over a portfolio of primarily listed businesses (and some of the largest Bank exposures) in our Specialist Portfolio Management team. In Jan\'19, I then broadened my experience by taking a new role managing (including through the pandemic) a portfolio of Private Equity backed corporates while in our Leveraged Finance / Structured Finance Portfolio Management team.In Apr\'21, I earned my first Relationship Director role on a 12-month secondment, looking after the Bank\'s largest & most complex Healthcare customers. After a successful year, I moved sectors into a Business Services Director role on a permanent basis for a further 2.5 years. In Aug\'24, I then seconded into our Large Corporates Consumer Industries for 8 months as a Director - working & transacting with clients ranging from PubCos to Retailers to Motorway Service operators. This was followed by a further 6-month Director-level secondment into Large Corporates Energy & Utilities, before securing my current role.Academically, I have completed the full AMCT Diploma in Treasury & hold an Economics degree (2:1) from The University of Nottingham.
