ABOUT CHRIS BAKER

Knowledge Exchange (KE) Professional specialising in- Designing, implementing and communicating KE policy at institutional, faculty or departmental level - Building staff and student engagement in KE - Using KE to drive excellence in both teaching and research - Maximising income capture to support the delivery of KE - Maximising impact from the delivery of KE activities - Evidencing and reporting on achievements in KE and Impact My services are for universities who want to- Strategically review their action plans for Knowledge Exchange (via the KE Concordat or other relevant planning exercises)- Drive engagement with, and value from, Knowledge Exchange and Innovation activities including proposal development and income capture- Maximise impact from KE in support of TEF, REF, KEF and other measures of success (such as those related to civic or ‘place based’ responsibilities)- Increase HEIF allocations (or secure them for the first time) and maximise impact that can be achieved from these monies. My services enable universities to- Understand their capacity for delivering excellence in both teaching and research through effective application of KE principles- Map ‘domains of activity’ in order to understand where there are options to add value through strategic collaborations, both internally and externally- Apply the most effective modes of KE, such as collaborative research and development or student placements, to advance any given idea or activity- Optimise the performance of KE activities to maximise impact- Monitor, evidence and evaluate measures of success/impact in ways that support key metrics (TEF, REF, KEF, Civic and others), inform continuous improvement and stimulate fresh ideas/opportunities.
