ABOUT ISAAC CHO
I am a researcher in immersive analytics and spatial computing, focusing on how humans perceive, interpret, and make decisions with data in immersive environments. My work bridges extended reality (XR), 3D user interfaces, and human–AI interaction to design systems that support analytical reasoning in virtual and augmented spaces.My research investigates how spatial interaction, embodied input, and multimodal feedback influence perception, cognition, and decision-making. I study cognitive biases in immersive environments and develop human-in-the-loop systems that enhance transparency, trust, and interpretability in AI-supported analysis.Over the past decade, I have developed interactive visualization systems across domains, including social media analytics, climate science, critical infrastructure, distributed energy systems, and immersive data exploration. My work has resulted in 50+ peer-reviewed publications in venues such as TVCG, CGF, VR, ISMAR, and VIS. I currently serve as an Associate Editor for Transactions on Visualization and Computer Graphics (TVCG).My long-term vision is to advance immersive, human-centered data systems that combine spatial computing, AI augmentation, and cognitive principles to support rigorous, equitable, and informed decision-making.
