About Emma Cho

I am a creative storyteller passionate about sports communication and social impact.I recently graduated from Occidental College in Los Angeles, CA where I gained extensive experience in communications and journalism. I published 28+ stories, edited 180+ articles, and took various photo assignments for The Occidental, the college\'s newspaper.My senior comprehensive project was a research paper and presentation on the history of American baseball in the Philippines, titled \"A White Man’s Sport? Baseball and Cultural Hegemony in the Philippines, 18••••28.” In this paper, I explored how baseball was utilized to promote and shape racial and cultural understandings. As a history major, I learned how to identify, analyze, and apply diverse perspectives to a variety of subjects. My major has taught me to approach all situations, topics, and problems from unconventional, creative angles — whether that be in the classroom, at work, or on the field.Outside of academics, I was a member of Occidental College\'s NCAA Division lacrosse team. In thirteen years (and counting!) of playing lacrosse, I gained the invaluable experience of being on a team — in both collaborative and leadership roles. In January 2026, I traveled with the Philippines Lacrosse Association to the Philippines to participate in (and win!) the FIRST Women\'s Sixes tournament in the country!I have work experience in sports communications, media relations, social media/online content, writing, video editing, journalism, photography, nonprofit, donations/fundraising, grants, coaching, customer service, and more.
