About Chloe Wenye Zhang

Chloe is an Accounting PhD student at Yale University’s School of Management. She studies the interactions of information, markets, the environment, and humans. She aims to contribute to a sustainably prosperous society through research and teaching. Before joining academia, Chloe spent a decade in practice, spanning management consulting, sustainability accounting, teaching, financial accounting advisory, and auditing. She hopes to leverage her unique experiences to bridge the gap between academia and practice, and to collaboratively help both communities become better at what they do. Most recently, she was a Strategy Consultant at EY-Parthenon, advising private equity and corporate clients on commercial due diligence, growth strategy, and M&A integration. She also volunteered with the E-ledgers Institute (non-profit) to advance sustainability accounting. Previously, as a financial accounting advisor at EY, she assisted Fortune 500 and middle-market companies as well as private equity firms with strategic transactions (e.g, IPOs, M & As, and restructuring, etc.), regulatory changes, process optimization, and financial accounting and reporting matters. Before that, she was an auditor at KPMG, serving public and private clients across industries. She also dabbled in entrepreneurship, public markets investing, private equity, and commercial banking for short periods of time. Sectors she worked with throughout her professional career include: fintech, climate tech, healthcare, telecommunications, retail and consumer goods, mobility, and advanced manufacturing. Chloe holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BBA from Emory University with High Honors. She is a licensed CPA in the States of Georgia and Massachusetts. Besides her professional interests, Chloe cares about sustainable living, healthcare, education, and international affairs. She is also an avid reader of behavioral science literature and science fiction.
