Manages environmental compliance with the Bay Area Air Quality Management District (BAAQMD) for organics processing of over tons per year- Managed multiple permits processed by the BAAQMD and assisted in drafting, maintaining compliance, and communicating with the Air District- Developed a Best Management Practice Manual and Monitoring Protocol for NRWS’s organics processing and site management and oversees implementation and tracking of data- Transitioned customer service team to an online platform to complete customer agreement forms and created an online portal for customers to request compost orders, leading to higher efficiency in the NRWS customer service department- Worked with UC Davis, the Compostable Foodware Field Testing Program, and the Compost Manufacturing Alliance to coordinate field tests for compostable products. Conducted several field tests for companies including World Centric and Sun & Swell- Drafted NRWS’s proposal for The Recycling Partnership Polypropylene Grant Program which was awarded funding in 2022 to increase diversion of polypropylene (PP). This project expanded and improved upon PP recycling by installing a robotic sortation system to identify and accurately sort PP products. Recently, In 2022 completed NRWS’s proposal for The Recycling Partnership’s PET Grant Program to install an optical and robotic sorting system to improve recovery of PET at the NRWS Material Recovery Facility- Provided grant management support to these projects and additionally to CalRecycle’s Organics Grant Program (ORG4) which was awarded a three million dollar grant for green waste processing equipment for Northern Recycling’s new composting facility located in Yolo County.
