ABOUT CHLOE STINSON

I am a first-year student at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill pursuing a double major in Political Science and Sports Administration, with a strong interest in the commercial sports industry. I plan to earn my Bachelor\'s degree in three years, then earn my master\'s degree in UNC\'s Master of Applied Professional Studies graduate school program before applying to law school. I hope to earn my Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree and gain experience in the professional sports industry from a legal standpoint. As a collegiate athlete, I have seen how sexism, racism, and inherent structural inequities dictate opportunity in athletics, often times hindering minority athletes from achieving their dreams and aspirations. Recognizing this reality drives my desire to pursue a legal career in the commercial sports industry, where I hope to transform athletes into community leaders and leverage their massive platforms for social impact. Also, as a Division I swimmer competing for UNC, I dedicate over 20 hours each week to training, competition, and recovery. Being a student-athlete has taught me imperative skills, including time management, resilience under pressure, and a disciplined work ethic; all of which are skills that I see to be the foundation of my academic and professional career.Beyond academics and athletics, I am passionate about giving back to my community. Throughout my life, I have been involved in service initiatives, such as Jack and Jill and school volunteering events. As I matured, I began to focus on my passion for leadership, which led me to found a nonprofit and a school club – both of which were dedicated to giving back to my community. As I continue my academic journey, I am eager to explore opportunities in the commercial sports industry, hoping to transform my passion for equitable distributions in sports to meaningful societal advancement.
