About Chloe Shrope

I\'m a Chemical Engineering student at Auburn University specializing in Pulp and Paper Science. Beyond my academic pursuits, I\'ve been actively involved on campus. I’m an active member of the Phi Theta chapter of Delta Delta Delta, where I’ve held leadership roles including Recruitment Events Chair and Lifetime Membership Chair. These positions have allowed me to build strong skills in event planning, budgeting, and boosting team morale. Professionally, I’ve had the opportunity to gain hands-on experience through multiple internships with Georgia-Pacific: Summer 2023: Worked at Alabama River Cellulose Mill (ARC) as a Process Engineer Intern in the Power House. My projects included heat exchanger optimization, evaluating chemical usage to increase CTO production, and leading initiatives in Disciplined Operations. Summer 2024: Served as a Remote Asset Process Engineer Intern at the Center for Support Control (CSC). I monitored the fiber line from the digester to the high-density tanks before the bleach plant at ARC, and led a design project for the Naheola facility to improve tracking systems for brown stock, bleached pulp, and board/tissue production. Looking ahead, I will return to Georgia-Pacific’s ARC facility in Spring and Summer 2025 for an internship in the Environmental Department, focusing on air compliance and sustainability efforts. I’m passionate about optimizing industrial processes and committed to continuous learning in the field of chemical engineering and sustainable manufacturing.

   Learned about Title V permits and limitsCreated knowledge shares, updated excel monitoring sheets, and troubleshot compliance events to learn about mill specific regulations and how to prevent them from happening. Wrote and sent a Rental Boiler permit application to ADEM Worked with waste, water, and process safety engineers to learn more about environmental regulations as a whole and see how they are connected.
