I assist with research focused on different microbiological concepts. I have contributed to an experiment studying and quantifying bacterial attachment and biofilm formation on polymer surfaces and well as assisting with some bacterial passaging and evolutionary studies. My work involved preparing bacterial cultures, maintaining sterile technique, plating samples, and helping to carry out crystal violet assays to evaluate biofilm growth. I also used spectrophotometric measurements to quantify results, prepared solutions and media for experiments, and carefully documented procedures and data to support reproducibility. Through this experience, I strengthened my laboratory skills and ability to work collaboratively in a research setting.
