ABOUT CHLOE HOEKSTRA

Hello! I\'m Chloe Hoekstra! I am a Marketing Management and English senior at Calvin University. I\'m currently exploring roles in Event Planning & Management, Communications, and Digital Marketing. Over the past few years at Calvin University as a Marketing Management and English student, I have learned I am passionate about stories and bridging connections, event planning, and writing. All my life, I have always loved writing and words, which caused me to become an English major. Combining my Marketing and English majors, I hope to provide project/event management skills with my writing skills. During my sophomore year, I planned several dorm events alongside a team, which sparked my love for event planning. Furthermore, as a tour guide, I have learned the importance of listening to people’s stories and understanding how to best connect with them. Customer service and providing the best visit experience are what I want to provide when giving a prospective student a tour. This led me to be a Student Fellow for Calvin’s Center for Faith and Writing, where I assisted in planning and hosting the 2024 festival. Lastly, through two study abroad experiences in Kenya and Italy, I have been able to combine my academic interests with learning from other cultures and experiences. All of these experiences have led me to where I am in my career today. In my roles at Hello West Michigan and Posh Petals, I have gained experience is coordinating event details and day-of events, furthering developing my expertise in events. I am eager to continue utilizing my skills to manage marketing campaigns, event promotion, and event planning.
