ABOUT CHLOE ECKERT

I bring together a career that bridges media, science, and conservation, using storytelling and strategy to advance Rewilding. With a background in documentary television and film, I spent over a decade developing creative concepts and managing productions before completing my MSc in Sustainable Development at University College Dublin.Previously, I contributed to conservation in Costa Rica, collaborating with local communities and park rangers to address biodiversity loss, support wildlife corridors, and advance the UN Sustainable Development Goals through community-based initiatives.Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, I am happiest in the outdoors, from camping with my family to swimming in the ocean year-round. I’m also a proud partner and parent of four children, who remind me daily of why Rewilding and restoring our planet matters so deeply.Over the past two years, I co-authored and coordinated two major reports with the Global Rewilding Alliance and collaborating partners, one a global assessment and the other focused on Africa. These reports highlight how wildlife is critical for ecosystem services, influencing both policy and practice.I am also currently working with the Olson Bison Rewilding Project in the Canadian prairies, coordinating efforts in bison and prairie restoration and wildlife corridor creation. This large-scale initiative demonstrates how reintroducing bison and reviving their ecological role can restore grasslands and strengthen climate resilience for both people and planet. I am also leading efforts to establish Rewilding Canada as part of the Global Rewilding Alliance, creating a national platform to connect projects, partners, and policy.I am extremely passionate about connecting people, ecosystems, and ideas to drive Rewilding forward, and always open to collaborating with those working toward a regenerative future.
