ABOUT CHLOE DELGERY

I am a bilingual Chartered Environmentalist with over 20 years’ experience in consultancy, delivering effective ecology solutions on a diverse range of projects, with a particular interest in bats, landscape-scale ecology and nature-based solutions.I have worked in the water, road, rail, and renewable industries for a range of clients both in the UK and overseas, and have extensive experience of ecological impact assessment in relation to habitats and species, including survey design and programming, and devising complex mitigation strategies for a range of protected species as well as implementing them on site. I also have experience in negotiating successful outcomes for clients with key stakeholders such as Natural England and Natural Resources Wales. I am a certified tree climber and hold survey licences for bats, dormouse and great crested newt in England and Wales. I hold Level 3 Accreditation under the joint NE CIEEM and BCT Bat Earned Recognition Class Licence CL47, and I am a Registered Consultant under the Bat Mitigation Class Licence, and under the Beaver Class Licence CL51.I am currently working inthe Arup/Binnies JV for the White Horse Reservoir DCO as Nature Design Lead for terrestrial ecology. Previous recent experiences include ecology project manager for Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects (A417 Missing Link in Gloucestershire, A303 Stonehenge improvements in Wiltshire), technical advisory role on other DCO highways schemes, bat specialist for wind energy developments in Serbia and an offshore project in Ireland, bat and dormouse mitigation licensing, and international environmental due diligence work. My first job was with The Nature Conservation Bureau, during which I spent two years managing research projects for COWRIE (Collaborative Offshore Wind Research Into the Environment), working in collaboration with conservation agencies, government bodies and international stakeholders from the offshore wind industry. I also assisted with the update of red list assessments of elasmobranchs through the IUCN Shark Specialist Group.
