ABOUT CHLOE BALMER MSCI ACIEEM
I am an experienced ecologist project manager with a strong field background and personal class licenses for bats (CL18 & CL17), dormice (CL10a), and barn owls (CL29). I hold ACIEEM accreditation and a first-class Master’s degree with honours in Conservation Biology and Ecology. Currently, I work for a consultancy in Cornwall, covering the South West, where I conduct surveys on all protected species and invasive non-native species (INNS). I am working towards my water vole license. I am proficient in writing comprehensive ecological reports, protected species reports, BNG, condition assessments, impact assessments, mitigation statements and toolbox talks. My identification skills encompass botany and phase 1 habitat assessments and the newer UKHab. I am competent using QGIS & QField and the use of acoustic software such as Analook and Insight. Additionally, I hold a CSCS card for site work and am experienced in delivering on-site toolbox talks and serving as an Ecological Clerk of Works (ECoW). I have also undertaken many badger surveys to inform mitigation plans, method statements and NE disturbance licence applications, i have acted as a named agent on badger licenses for live digs methodologies and sett closures.
