Kara Weaves is a handloom revival project based out of Kerala which aims at making good design benefit the revival of the hand-weaving industry in Kerala in southern India. I co-founded this company in 2007 and have led the creative direction of the brand and products since inception. I built our brand on the basis of the core design principles of transparency, clarity and ethical business practices. Today we retail our textiles in ten counties and are working with wonderful partners like Williams Sonoma, Anthropologie, The Little Market, ABC Carpet and Home, all the while supporting our local artisan co-operatives in India through this company.
