ABOUT CHITRA ACHARYA

I am a computer scientist passionate about reducing medical errors and improving patient safety. My PhD research, Human Computer Interaction (HCI) and Patient Safety, contributed to knowledge - application of basic HCI principles and practices reduced medical errors and improved patient safety.I am a Reconfiguration Project Manager within the Reconfiguration Programme (Strategy and Transformation) at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust.With my lived experience as a carer, I am assisting shape health and care services within Nottinghamshire and at the national level.I have taken on a voluntary role as an NHS App Ambassador - a member of NHS staff who represent a wide range of settings, professions and locations. This includes supporting my colleagues with their use of the app and looking for new opportunities for raising awareness of its benefits, including booking and tracking GP appointments and ordering repeat prescriptions.
