ABOUT CHISTAA GOUDARZI
My background is in Urban Design, and I became deeply interested in how space, identity, gender, and power shape everyday life in marginalised communities. This path led me to my PhD at the University of Westminster, where I aim to study how tourism influences, and is influenced by, women’s lived experiences and ethnic identities on the margins.My research is generously supported by the Quintin Hogg Trust Studentship.Alongside my PhD, I work as the Event Coordinator for the Equality in Tourism Award, an internationally recognised initiative that celebrates organisations championing gender equality in tourism and hospitality.Research & Professional Interests:• Urban design & socio-spatial change• Gender equality in tourism• Feminist theory• Ethnic identity & marginalized regions• Community-led tourism
