As a matter of fact, up to recently, I have been working in UK with a private Company (in a private Hospital) for Plastic Reconstructive and Cosmetic Surgery, having to match myself with very complicate surgical procedures not any more supported by NHS (I was said), as very large and impressive abdominoplasty and reductive mastoplasty with mastopexy, because those procedures are considered at the boundary line between plastic surgery (owing to pain and bad way of living they are the cause of) and cosmetic surgery.In that period I have been very proud of my work, mainly because I had to tackle those difficult surgeries by myself…I mean, working in General Anaesthesia but with a surgical team made only of me and a scrub nurse. It was like flying as the fighting pilot of a F-16 combat airplane in a war area under enemies’ flak, or driving a Ferrari F1 speedcar in the Montecarlo F1 Championship race.I am very proud of it and, owing to that, I can now grant everyone (if necessary, but I think not, because I know who I am and what I am able to do) that I am a very skilled surgeon.I was also very proud of having been told that my consultations lasted too long than those of other surgeons, and it happened because I have always kept following the GMC guidelines together with a clear behaviour in front of every patients through clear explanation of risk and benefits of every procedure and careful listening of patients’ wishes (also to drive them through the difficult field of “impossible” wishes). I was and I am very proud, because this is me….because I was taught that way by my magister vitae in Surgery…and becuse I was born this way, I mean, as a gentleman.However, I have now considered my availability for Locum positions arrived at the end of the road, while I am still available for Teaching positions and for performing surgical procedures abroad in different Countries on the matter of Cosmetic Surgery and Regenerative Surgery & Medicine in private practice.
