I remember that day. I had come across this saying – “Home is where the heart is.” But when you are a six-year-old, and it’s six in the evening, your heart is certainly not in the home called homework. It’s in the idiot box watching cartoon shows.So, with some self-professed juvenile ingenuity, I grabbed a storybook, flipped through its pages, came across a title that featured my nickname, and copied that story word for word. Homework done! All while watching my favorite shows!And the cherry on the top – my class teacher LOVED it!But, hey, I wasn’t let off the hook. Years later, Fate had her revenge on me as she let loose an army of bugs that bit me with an insatiable need to tell stories for survival. I first felt the sting when I read R.K. Narayan’s \"The Thief.\" It became sore after reading William Somerset Maugham’s \"The Luncheon.\" A boil formed post R.K. Narayan’s \"The Martyr’s Corner,\" and, finally, it burst after O. Henry’s \"Jimmy Valentine.\" I knew I had been punished for life, and telling stories was the only way to repent.And hence, after a lot of resistance, I quit my role in the tech industry and forayed into the world of entertainment. I started off my storytelling journey by writing several plays and screenplays before taking up a full-time job as an editor and translator.I created subtitles and closed captions in Hindi and English for some amazing shows like \"Stranger Things,\"\"The Haunting of Hill House,\" and \"Delhi Crime\" before a string of happy coincidences carried me to the wondrous shores of Turner (now Warner Bros. Discovery) and then Kuku FM as a creative producer.I have cherished my role as a creative producer since, figuring out the HOW of stories that make them WOW! or OW! and brainstorming with writers to come up with tales that delight our audience.I have worked on marquee animated TV shows like Chhota Bheem and Roll No. 21, and continue to provide creative supervision at at all stages of production of audio shows at Kuku FM. Some of my achievements:1. One of my plays – The Suicide - won the First Runners-up for the Best Play in the Pune Theatre Festival in 2015. Wrote dialogues for a short film titled \"500 Rupees,\" which won the best short film award at India International Film Festival of Boston, and also got a nomination in JIO Filmfare Best Short Films of 2017.The story bugs are still on my trail. I have got to keep tailing on tales to tell to get them off my tail. May I prevail.
