About Chirag Malhotra
I’m an ML Engineer at CivicAI Lab, building AI tools that connect people to opportunities. I design multimodal systems using PyTorch for fast diffusion models, LangGraph for RAG pipelines, and ROS1/C++ for control stack for a Self driving car. I thrive on turning complex AI into tools people actually use and that spark of impact drives me daily. That hands-on passion started years ago in mechanical engineering, building an F3 race car, wiring sensors, tuning actuators, and optimizing control loops. That experience sparked a deeper curiosity: how can I make systems smarter using data and models instead of just metal?So I pivoted into computer science, earning my MS at Northeastern, where I began blending engineering instincts with software. Since then, I’ve built and optimized GenAI tools (achieving 77% faster diffusion inference!), created RAG-powered architectures for enterprise deployments, and developed perception and planning modules for autonomous vehicles during co-ops at MyRide and Lightbird.Today, I fuse real-world engineering problems with cutting-edge AI.
