Serves as a senior-level civil engineer and conducts strategic engineering in support of NORAD and USNORTHCOM (N & NC) objectives for homeland defense, civil support and theater security cooperation. Serves as the commands’ environmental engineering Subject Matter Expert (SME) for issues associated with operations, facilities, and infrastructure as guided by the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), federal law, DoD policy, and other related laws and policy. Analyzes, reviews, edits and coordinates engineer aspects of strategic planning in support of the N & NC joint planning process. Incorporates joint engineer doctrine, policies and directives to meet engineering requirements in support of command priorities and objectives. Through analysis of strategic concepts and operational objectives, defines and evaluates emerging infrastructure requirements through the formalized requirements processes to posture N&C for success during competition, crisis and conflict. Advocates for resources to support development and execution of studies and construction projects and in appropriate advocacy papers, briefings, presentations, boards, conferences, and working groups. Demonstrates solid leadership and professional qualities by developing and maintaining professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders to advance Department of the Air Force (DAF) interests and promote collaboration, two-way communication, teamwork, and results.
