ABOUT CHIOMA E.
As a registered social worker with over 10 years of experience, I have dedicated my career to helping individuals and families navigate life\'s challenges, develop resilience, and discover their inner strengths. I am the founder of Inner Compass Well-being, an organization committed to providing culturally relevant mental health support and fostering personal growth for BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) communities. This mission was born out of my personal journey, professional expertise, and a deep-seated belief that everyone deserves access to mental health resources that genuinely resonate with their lived experiences.Driven by this mission, I founded Inner Compass Well-being, a platform that offers a wide range of mental health services, resources, and tools designed to meet the diverse needs of BIPOC individuals. As a therapist, I draw upon a range of therapeutic approaches to ensure my clients receive the most effective and personalized care. For couples therapy, I utilize the Gottman Method, a research-based approach that focuses on strengthening relationships, improving communication, and building trust. I work closely with couples to help them understand each other\'s needs, resolve conflicts, and cultivate a deeper emotional connection. In addition to couples therapy, I offer individual counseling services for clients facing a variety of challenges, such as stress, burnout, periods of adjustment following significant life changes, painful past experiences, and unique racialized experiences. I am passionate about creating a space where clients feel comfortable exploring their feelings, thoughts, and behaviors, and where they can gain insight into their experiencesAt Inner Compass Well-being, I recognize that mental health support goes beyond individual therapy sessions. It also involves addressing broader societal issues and fostering an inclusive environment where everyone feels valued and understood. This is why I offer workshops and training around Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) for organizations, businesses, and educational institutions. These workshops are designed to raise awareness about mental health issues, promote cultural competency, and create spaces where individuals from diverse backgrounds feel seen, heard, and respected.
