ABOUT CHIOKE MOSE-TELESFORD

With a background in the non-profit and for-profit sectors, I like finding opportunities to work at progressive organizations that make the world a better place, particularly for underresourced and overlooked communities.I’m currently the Director of Systems Alignment and Policy at Detroit\'s Office of Workforce Development where I focus a lot of my time building strategies and partnerships to reduce barriers to employment, like transportation, childcare and housing. My current work finds me creating policies, supports and interventions that assist Detroiters with disabilities, those experiencing housing insecurity or behavioral health challenges, and parenting job seekers.I previously worked at a Detroit based startup where I created workforce training programs aimed at building an inclusive tech workforce made up of Detroiters (and ran the one-person marketing department in my spare time). I have also worked in operations management and the education sector, where I focused on academic achievement and college success.In my spare time, I lead the Stanford Club of Michigan, sing, dance with my young kids, try to learn as much as I can about random topics and attempt to keep groundhogs from destroying my vegetable garden. So far, the groundhogs are winning.
