ABOUT CHIGOZIE JENNIFER OPARA
Chigozie Jennifer Opara completed her medical education and training at Windsor University School of Medicine in St. Kitts and Nevis and received her medical degree in 2013. She completed a 1-year rotational internship in specialties including Internal Medicine, General Surgery, Obstetrics and Gynecology, and Pediatrics. After this, she completed a 1 year return of service in the Trauma and orthopedic department. Thereafter, she began her independent practice as a general medical practitioner before relocating to Canada. In addition to her medical practice, she conducted and wrote a published research with her peers which was published in the Niger Delta Journal of Medicine & Medical Research. She also wrote and published a case report with her colleagues which was also published in the African Journal of Clinical and Experimental Microbiology. Since Jennifer immigrated to Canada, she has completed her MCCQE1, NacOsce, and TDM examinations. She has done observerships in Family practice and psychiatry to gain insights into the Canadian Healthcare system. She volunteers with Alpha House (shelter and addiction), Alberta International Medical Graduate Association (AIMGA), and Living Christ Evangelical Ministry in Calgary, Alberta. She is currently working as a Clinical Assistant in the Cardiac Science Department of Alberta Health Services and aspires to obtain a residency spot by Matching in the forthcoming CaRMS cycle. When Jennifer is not at work or volunteering, she spends her leisure time listening to music and taking walks with her husband and her dog.
