ABOUT CHIEN-HUAN WENG
With more than 10 years of research experience in Immunology and the privilege of being a thesis student of Dr. Khashayarsha Khazaie and Dr. James P. Allison (Nobel prize laureate in Physiology or Medicine, 2018), I’ve gained the expertise in conducting best-in-class Immunology research to unravel mechanisms that contribute to impair / hinder anti-tumor immunity. Specializing in T cell biology, my research has been dedicated to understanding how environmental factors contribute to modulate T cell function in the setting of both autoimmune diseases and cancers. Currently I serve as a Senior Research Scientist and a fellow at Parker Institute for Cancer Immunotherapy (PICI) in a laboratory directed by Dr. Jedd D. Wolchok and Dr. Taha Merghoub at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center (MSK). My research has been focused on uncovering factors / pathways that contribute to T cell exhaustion / dysfunction and unraveling mechanisms of acquired (or inherited) resistance of tumor cells to Immune checkpoint blockade therapies in cancer.
