The Greensboro Sports Foundation is the local organizing committee for the major sports events contested at the Greensboro Coliseum Complex and throughout Greensboro such as those presented by the ACC, NCAA, U.S. Figure Skating, USA Swimming, USA Gymnastics and the Amateur Athletic Union among others. Greensboro’s sports tourism efforts create economic development that benefits not only Greensboro but also Central North Carolina.

ABOUT CHIDI AKWARI
Chidi Akwari is one of the triads most successful real estate brokers by any statistical measure and one of its few career real estate professionals. The Greensboro News and Record has described him as “a real estate prodigy”. A chance meeting his freshman year at Guilford College led Chidi to an internship and then ultimately a full time position in new home sales with Fortune 500 building conglomerate D.R. Horton (NYSE: DHI). After years spent developing new home communities with some of Greensboro’s most prominent builders he launched Akwari & Company in 2008 at 28. He did so as the youngest owner/operator in Guilford County & never looked back. A multi million dollar producer in every phase of his career in 2014 The Business Journal celebrated Chidi as one of their 40 Under 40, not only as a realtor and entrepreneur but as, “an investor of note with over 200 completed ‘remodel projects’”. Chidi’s number one focus has always been and always will be his clients. At an awards dinner in 2016 he was introduced by clients as, “a broker that is truly more concerned with the service people deserve than any ranking or individual income”. He finished 2021 inside the top 10 for overall sales volume triad-wide.Chidi is a dedicated and knowledgeable broker, who can provide you with highly specialized information, connections, and market knowledge built from experience that will help clients make the right decisions. He provides outstanding counseling, education, and service through the process of buying or selling a home. His attention to detail and the emphasis he places on educating his clients during the transaction have earned him high praise as well as prestigious awards over the course of going on two decades continuously spent solely in all aspects of the residential real estate business.When not at work Chidi spends almost all of his free time with his family and with the remainder is deeply involved in the Greensboro community. He has served on the boards of multiple non prots and currently serves as the Chair of the War Memorial Commission for the City of Greensboro as well as the executive board and the building committee of Habitat For Humanity and the executive board of the Greensboro Sports Foundation. He’s a City Academy graduate, voted by his classmates as the student exhibiting “Best Leadership Qualities”, and returned to graduate from Police Citizen’s Academy 18 months later. Chidi has lived in Greensboro since 1998 residing in Starmount Forest with his wife Anna and their three boys Austin (10), Cameron (7), and Jordan (5).
