ABOUT CHIARA PAPPALARDO
Chiara writes on issues at the intersection of energy and environmental law. Her research explores the role that laws and policies at every level of government play in facilitating (or hindering) the transition to alternative sources and means of energy generation and, through them, the attainment of more sustainable social, economic and environmental outcomes. Prior to her admission to Georgetown Law, Chiara was a visiting research scholar and adjunct professor at American University Washington College of Law where she taught courses on International Energy Law and Introduction to Trade Policy. She also served as moot court coach and advisor to various student organizations as well as academic coordinator and teaching assistant to the program on International Organizations, Law and Development (formerly known as International Organizations, Law and Diplomacy). Chiara is licensed to practice law in Italy and was trained both in Italy and in the United States. She has four years of private practice experience with civil, commercial, corporate and private international law. She also has some government as well as private sector experience as a legal consultant spanning a wide range of issues including advocacy, legislative drafting and implementation, project financing and regulatory compliance.
