ABOUT CHIARA MASELLIS

I’m a physicist (BSc + MSc), PhD in Physical Chemistry, and innovation leader with a career spanning advanced technology industries, project management, and entrepreneurship.After completing my PhD, I spent 7+ years in industry, leading projects in laser systems and later in energy storage (redox flow batteries), where I advanced from project manager to Head of Project Management. My work combined technical expertise with business planning, financial oversight, and team leadership, often in international, cross-functional environments.Alongside my industry career, I pursued entrepreneurial ventures in both technology and social innovation. From 2017 to 2025, I explored and tested four startup concepts, most recently a social-impact initiative. While not all were brought to market, these experiences sharpened my ability to validate ideas, build prototypes, and pivot based on evidence — the same skills I now apply when working with founders and innovation teams.Today, I bring together my technical depth, entrepreneurial experience, and leadership skills as Head of Moonshot Innovation at TUM Venture Labs with the main goal of supporting future founders accelerating their path to test and validate their potential moonshot and identifying innovative moonshot ideas within academia.
