ABOUT CHIARA DI SALVO FOR ONIRICSTUDIO
An Informal material artist for 20 years, during the last 10 years I have dedicated an important part of my work to the search for free expression. In 2019 I opened ONIRIC STUDIO a space dedicated to this free expression of the unconscious through artistic medium. From open and horizontalized vertebral columns that tell landscapes and inner visions, my conversations with colour and form have opened up to a visual feeling, telling entire books of words and sensations through a picture, that literally can be leafed through layer after layer and its contents read. Working with the unconscious, my works are indirectly a portal to the two realities, therefore it is inevitable that what comes out of it is primordial: I chose material painting because I needed to \"touch the ground\"; I chose informal painting because I needed to get away from the predisposed forms and create my own, unique and always different. I chose to work with many different materials because of every single technique has a personal language with which I want to interact. In the paintings I insert my dynamite, my cosmos is explosive, chaotic, twisted and enveloping, they are prison but also an escape route, they are a desire for control and a reason for intense internal orgasm.
