ABOUT CHIARA PRATOLA
Chiara Pratola, PhD, has more than ten years of experience in remote sensing and satellite EO applications development, achieved by working in both academic and industry international contexts. During her career she had the opportunity of working on several projects funded by ASI (Italian Space Agency), ESA European Space Agency, and European Commission (H2020 programme). Her main research topics concern the use of high and very high resolution SAR data (e.g. Cosmo-SkyMed, TerraSAR-X, ENVISAT-ASAR, Sentinel-1) for land and marine applications (e.g, land cover classification, feature extraction, change detection, soil moisture retrieval models and global soil moisture products validation, ship detection, shoreline detection). She has also experience in using optical satellite images (e.g. QuickBird, WorldView, Sentinel-2) for land cover classification or as a support to SAR images interpretation and SAR products validation.
