Planning & Development Tasks like:• Formulating long term maintenance plans, and tracking maintenance in accordance with makers maintenance schedules and the PMS• Planning and managing, refits, maintenance, repairs, dry-docking, conversions or modifications• Suggesting improvement/changes to procedures & HSQEEn manuals where required Financial & Budgetary tasks like:• Monitoring and managing vessel operating costs within agreed budgets• Preparing and presenting to the GM annual operating budgets• Directing & monitoring the vessel stocking levels with respect to regular and critical spares• Monitoring vessel performance trends including speed, fuel and lubricating oil consumptions, and implementing timely remedial actions where required• Performing vessel technical inspections and visits, on allocated vessels, as per company Vessel Resources & Personnel:• Assisting crewing department in the selection of engineer officers• Performing senior Officer Performance Appraisals, mentoring of staff, and carrying out briefingsHealth Safety Environment & Quality:• Act as a member of the Emergency Response Team during an emergency• Ensuring implementation of safety and environmental standards on board the vessel Procurement and Purchase:• Approving vessel orders for stores, spares, repairs and survey within financial limit of authority• Monitoring and guiding the vessel purchaser and the technical assistant on procurement matters and technical services
