Participating in the National Institute Of Health\'s U-RISE (Undergraduate Research Training Initiative for Student Enhancement (T34)) at Nova Southeastern University (U-RISE@NSU) program, which focuses on collaborative approaches to treat chronic diseases and develops undergraduate students intending to pursue a PhD or MD/PhD in STEM disciplines related to the Biomedical Sciences or Health. Grateful to be 1 of the 4 students selected for this prestigious program to work on focused research thoroughly investigating Gulf War Illness and Myalgic encephalomyelitis (Chronic Fatigue Syndrome). This NIH-funded program provides an intensive research experience for highly motivated and high-achieving undergraduate students through two years of research in a lab, special courses, and additional career development training. Further, the program provides funds for living expenses and tuition. This program is highly competitive and is aimed at students in disciplines such as Chemistry, Biology, Psychology, Computer Science, and Engineering, though other disciplines may fit as well.
