As a BIM Engineer Intern at Design and Draft Engineering Institute, I am currently gaining hands-on experience in the application of Building Information Modeling (BIM) within real-world architectural and structural design workflows. Under the valuable mentorship of Mr. Tohid Sir, I am learning industry-relevant skills and deepening my understanding of the BIM process from design to documentation.Key learning areas and responsibilities include:3D modeling and architectural drafting using Autodesk RevitUnderstanding project stages, from conceptual planning to technical detailingIntroduction to clash detection and BIM coordination practicesDeveloping drawing sets and working with standard drafting conventionsExposure to AutoCAD, Navisworks, and project documentation workflowsParticipating in discussions on sustainable and efficient design practicesThis internship is providing me with a strong foundation in both the technical and collaborative aspects of the AEC (Architecture, Engineering & Construction) industry, and is helping bridge the gap between academic knowledge and industry application.
