Lead the development of innovative energy and environmental solutions for Southern Company by scouting, developing, demonstrating, and integrating cutting-edge strategies. Focus on enhancing operational efficiency and advancing sustainable decarbonization through collaboration both within the company and with external partners.• Develop strategic and thought leadership initiatives addressing both near-term and long-term challenges, including operational enhancement, Operations and Maintenance (O&M) cost optimization, and sustainable decarbonization for natural gas distribution companies and power plants.• Identify, develop, and demonstrate innovative solutions such as robotics, automation, advanced controls, analytics, greenhouse gas emission reduction, renewable natural gas, hydrogen, and geothermal technologies.• Lead demonstrations of both near-term and long-term solutions, effectively communicating outcomes to leadership and stakeholders.• Recommended leadership and stakeholders on environmental control technologies for managing trace constituents like mercury, arsenic, and selenium in air and water at Southern Company power plants, leading to successful full-scale implementation.• Developed and managed research centers to provide infrastructure for pilot and demonstration projects for the utility industry.• Successfully secured Department of Energy (DOE) funding for multiple sustainable decarbonization projects, serving both as principal investigator and collaborator.• Cultivate relationships internally and externally to foster solution development and demonstrate commitment to mentoring and team building.
