The Canadian Thoracic Society (CTS) is Canada’s national inter-professional specialty society for respiratory bringing together over members representing specialists, physicians, researchers and healthcare professionals from a variety of disciplines working in respiratory health. CTS promotes lung health by enhancing the ability of healthcare professionals through leadership, collaboration, research, learning and advocacy, and providing the best respiratory practices in Canada. The CTS is recognized as an accrediting body of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada for specialist education and Continuing Professional Development. CTS develops, disseminates and evaluates evidence based clinical practice guidelines and engages in knowledge translation. CTS guidelines are published in the Canadian Journal of Respiratory, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine by Taylor & Francis Group.
