Nurturing Chefs has partnered with UMMA Clinic under the Black Visions of Wellness program (BVOW). This is a fully funded program with a focus on improving the lives of the Black community. Through cooking demonstrators, classes, advocating quick and easy meals, our goal is to raise awareness of using less red meat, increasing fruits and vegetables, adding beans and legumes. Emphasis on utilizing local Farmers market, patronizing Black food purveyors, and eating Soul food in a healthier way. Weekly classes held in Los Angeles at Jesse Owens Park. Each week we focus on a health challenge (Diabetes, Hypertension, Heart Disease) and find healthy ways to combat these conditions. Contact the Chef for information on the classes.
