ABOUT CHERYL LENCHESKI

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), a Certified Traumatologist (CT), a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP), a National Certified Counselor (NCC), and Certified Clinical Mental Health Counselor (CCMHC). I practice privately, independently in Pennsylvania, and am a registered telehealth provider for the state of Florida. I have over 15 yrs of clinical experience and have worked with clients across the lifespan. My diversified training as a Traumatologist, and Clinical Mental Health experience includes assignments in hospital-based emergency depts, community residential programs, community case management agencies, and outpatient programs.I serve as Disaster Mental Health (DMH), and Govt. Liaison through the American Red Cross, and participates in Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) for local businesses and organizations including the Medical Reserve Corp (MRC) and the Green Cross. Currently, I am the owner of a private, evidence-based counseling practice, specializing in clinical services for individuals experiencing Chronic, and Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), military sexual assault, sexual assault, combat exposure, for both civilian and military personnel. In addition to my clinical and administrative duties, I also serve as a consultant for local police, school districts, physicians, community agencies, and a supervisor to those seeking state licensure. I am also an adjunct professor for two local universities, where I teach graduate clinical counseling, and undergraduate psychology courses. I’ve recently co-developed a multiple-course sequence leading to a Behavioral Health minor in trauma and crisis education for one of these institutions. As a Senior associate trainer for the Crisis Prevention Institute, my students completing BHI become fully trained in verbal de-escalation, and non-violent physical crisis interventions as \"Crisis Interventionists\". Presently I am on hiatus due to the pandemic from a doctoral program in Counselor Education and Supervision with a specialty in Trauma and Crisis, focusing on war, natural and man-made Disasters. As a Doctoral Candidate, my dissertation topic is: The Impact of Type and Duration of Trauma on Substance Abuse Severity.
