About Cherron Smith

Through my work in higher education and public health, I’ve honed skills in program development, policy analysis, leadership, and student engagement. I have had the opportunity to create curricula that support student learning and development and lead a college mentoring program, fostering leadership and community-building among students. As I continue to grow professionally, I am eager to deepen my understanding of public health policy, focusing on how evidence-based strategies can shape effective, equitable policies that improve health outcomes on a larger scale.

   As an LLC Coordinator at Kent State University, I support student success within the CLab Scholars program by providing personalized mentorship, proactive case management, and coordinating engaging programming. My responsibilities include conducting monthly success meetings, managing student records, and collaborating with campus departments to create a supportive environment. I also oversee social media and marketing strategies for CommUNITY Lab, supervise a team of 11 student employees, developed and lead a mentorship program, and plan career development events. I am passionate about fostering an inclusive, student-centered community where students thrive academically and personally.
