ABOUT CLAUDIA HERRINGTON

Claudia has successfully distinguished herself as a Director, Businesswoman, and Leader through her expertise in investment strategy and enterprise risk areas that jeopardize growth and innovation for companies in highly-regulated industries (chemicals, pharmaceuticals, and fintech).Claudia serves as a Board Member and investment expert for STRS Ohio, a $90B+ public pension fund with 70% of the fund under internal management. This unique risk profile has allowed her to sharpen her saw around investment risk and sustainable fund performance. She is the Chair of the Compensation committee and a member of the Audit, Governance, and Investment committees. These skills allow her to intuitively spot organizational risks and gaps and collaboratively bring leaders to consensus while maintaining the organization’s competitive advantage.Claudia is the Managing Director of Enterprise Risk for JobsOhio, Ohio’s unique private nonprofit economic development corporation that attracts business investments and job creation to Ohio. She developed and operationalized the organizational framework to identify and mitigate risk across JobsOhio’s three entities. Claudia drove JobsOhio forward in the critical risk areas of cybersecurity and data privacy. In a prior role at JobsOhio, she was responsible for the compliance of a $1B+ grant and loan portfolio that had a <1% clawback rate. Earlier in her career, Claudia rose through the ranks at the Scotts Miracle-Gro Company, a Fortune Company, where her professional trajectory in highly-regulated industries began. From there, she has worked in and advised public and private domestic and international companies on regulatory compliance. These prior experiences sparked Claudia’s entrepreneurial spirit, and she became the Founder & CEO of two small businesses that support the entrepreneurial endeavors of others.Claudia extends her board skills and serves as a Board Member, Treasurer and Chair of the Finance and Investment Committee for the Women’s Fund of Central Ohio, a $7M+ organization that advocates for social change, gender equality, and economic self-sufficiency.
