ABOUT CHERIE HANNAH

I am currently working to utilize my underwriting skills to train newly hired underwriters, up-skill existing underwriters, act as product and guideline SME, create and facilitate enterprise wide refresher and continuing education training. Prior to my role in Mortgage Operations, I was an experienced Senior Underwriter (DE, VA credit standards, USDA, Conventional, Non-QM) with a demonstrated history of superior production and quality. Skilled in Loan Servicing, Credit Risk, Project Management, Risk Management, Customer Service, and Interpersonal Skills. Strong finance professional that studied at Virginia Commonwealth University. Additionally, I have tested and implemented a complete process change amongst underwriting and processing which reduced complete loan cycle time by more than 50%. In addition to leading the change, I mined all data as well as created training material which I then used in training underwriting staff in the new process. Not only am I experienced in making mortgages work within the strictest of guidelines, but I have also trained the most intelligent of processors and junior/senior underwriters. I have thrived in changing environments by implementing change and project management skills by empowering underwriters with the knowledge and tools for successfully underwriting customers\' loans. Always aggressively seeking to approve with the challenge of overcoming denial reasons within a compliant platform.
